I am interessted in many items including Keytars. I have not used eBay before. Is it safe? If I buy something, will it work? How do I know I'm not being scammed?

  1. I have shopped and sold on ebay. It is pretty reliable. Just check the feed back from the buyer and also their return policy on item that they sell, if they don't work. It is usually under the description. Good luck shopping.

  2. I've never had any major problems with anyone on ebay.  Be sure to check the salers feedback and rating.  If it's all good then you should be ok.  Just be sure to read every detail about the item you are interested in.

  3. I would make sure that the seller would be willing to refund if need be Especially out of the country sellers there price might be cheap but if you don't have insurance then they can never ship it and say that it got lost in the mail I wouldn't buy electronics from ebay if the seller isn't willing to refund it becauase i know a lot of people that buy electronics for 200+ dollars and get it and it isn't what they were promised or it was broken so make sure to only buy from reliable countries and none of the china c**p we are already buying enough thing from china in the real world we don't need to buy things from them on Ebay too

  4. I have never had a problem either. Just as everyone else has said... make sure to check their feedback and see if they are good to pay for their item or ship the item. Also, watch for people who try to jack up the shipping rates. I hate that.

  5. The question isn't if Ebay is reliable it's if the seller is reliable.

Overall my experinence with ebay sellers has been pretty good only ran into one horrible one but that seller also had a zero reputation.

It's pretty safe, details are covered like warrenty, as is buys, condition and etc. and if you have any questions you can always ask the seller directly (ask before bidding), they are pretty good in giving responses quickly.

Generally you aren't being scammed if you buy from a power seller

  6. I have never been ripped off on eBay.  I have dealt with thousands of transactions and never had this kind of problem.

It's a great place for finding unique items.  Read the feedback.  Purchase small items for awhile to get comfortable.  Get a feel for the system.  I wouldn't buy a high end item from someone with less than 50 feedback maybe more.  A paypal account helps.  Make sure your payment method gives you recourse just in case.

The only trouble I have ever had was with the post office.  The do lose packages from time to time.  So, I would recommend UPS for expensive items.

  7. Most of the testimonials I have read about Ebay. Ebay is an auction site that sale items prices up higher than the street market. They are reliable because the bottom line is that eBay and PayPal facilitate a transaction between a seller and a buyer, taking almost no responsibility for the outcome.

    read this testimonial from http://dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=...

I'm 100% satisfied with about 60% of the Ebay purchases I make. P.O.'ed with the other 40%. For me, buying a GL2 would not be worth the roll of the dice.

Or you can participate in the forums.ebay.com and ask about

ebay guidelines and procedures in buying items online

  8. Yup! Been a member since 1996! Look @ the sellers' reviews.
