Is early leaf color change common?

I have a sunset maple-8 years old- in my front yard. For the last 2 years it has started to change colors at the beginning of July and by mid-August the branches are bare! I live in southeast Wisconsin if that makes a difference.

Due to the ever changing weather plants and trees are confused. Cherry trees have bloomed 2 to 3 months before they were supposed to the same with orange trees

its due to temperture change.yeah i live near you and my maple did the same.

sounds like you have a issue with water/nueturents around the tree

the tree is going dormet sooner to stay alive

throw some fertilizer around it(bury if for appearance) and water more in the summer

probably won't help this year but next year the leafs wil last longer
