  1. Paris dans le Printemps? Mais, bien-sur! The City is at it's lovliest in Spring.

There will always be crowds at the Louvre. The weather is chancy. Pack for sunny and raining, often within the hour.

Bonne Chance, and as Truffault said to Dreyfuss in "Close Encounters..." : " I envy you".

  2. Yes. May won't be too cold or really hot. If you want to see the flowers in bloom in Luxembourg Gardens (which is VERY pretty) I would reccomned going a little later.

  3. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....g*y Paris in the Spring.......Yes, of course!!  Have fun!

  4. I think a beautiful city like that any time is good to visit. Have fun in Paris, it is a another fashion country

  5. Yes, it gets really hot in the city in the summer and all the parisiens tend to try and get out for a vacation then, I do believe.

I went in late October myself and the weather was divine. In spring it might be cooler but I would have thought it would be pleasant.

If you want to avoid crowds as much as possible, stay away from bank holidays and school half terms and go in the week rather the weekend.

  6. may would be perfect. its prettyest normally in mid may to mid june....

  7. Been to Paris in early May and the crowds were perhaps half that as during the high tourist season (ACK!). As most families still have children in school & most college students are cramming for exams chez eux at this season, I think that it's one of the best times to go! (Then again, I love February!) Another great time is late September! Have fun! & Bon voyage!

And yes, bring a parapluie (umbrella!)--they make those l;ittle compact ones now--and remember how beautiful Paris can look with its streets all rain covered and shiny! (Not to mention the cloud breaks!)

  8. shoot! any time is a good time to visit Paris, especially in May!

  9. any time is very good but in may it is a lot more crowded if you want quite not a good time but if you want the more toristy stuff great time

  10. yes there are crowds, but the weather will be very nice. I think it's the best time.

  11. As others have said, anytime is a great time to visit Paris.  May, however, is the start of the "tourist season".  You should expect there to be crowds, although they will get worse as the summer approaces.  Your best bet it to get to the museum before it actually opens so that you don't have to wait too long in line to get in.

The weather in Paris is always a little mercurial, to say the least.  Carry a lightweight jacket or sweater and a compact umbrella with you at all times.  When I was there one March, it started sleeting and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  It was strange!  When I was there in late May/early June, it was 95 degrees every day for almost two weeks but cooled off considerably in the late afternoon and evening.  You just never know!
