  1. Depends.

I know many eBayers. Both buyers and sellers.

All cannot be measured by the same rod. There are all types of people out there.

  2. really really safe, no...

But I've been using it for a while and never had any problems...

I use paypal though which is more secure than using a simple credit/debit card.

You've got to look at the seller's rating if you're trying to buy something... I usually go for 98.5% or higher

  3. I'm a buyer and seller and I've only had one problem with a ink cartridge I bought for my printer. The item said NEW.. I got a NEW STARTER cartridge. Other than that, I've had no problems. Even bought Kenny Chesney concert tickets with no problems. (great show by the way!)

  4. No....I use paypal but some of the stuff I have ordered isn't as good as it seems...Like a got a video that worked and was the same but it was a copy even the box was a copy....I wasn't to happy cause who doesn't want the orignal?? Just make sure your check their seller scores and feeback comments if they don't sound good or it sounds risky and your having doubts chances are you shouldn't order it good luck =]

  5. no.

  6. Why not, I've bought items from small to big, from $5 to $1000 and all of them reach me safe and sound. I live in Singapore and most of the items come from US, Australia and europe. Its good to have ebay cos in my country retailers mark up crazy prices.

  7. For some people, it's a life saver.   It is wise to say that nothing is safe or garanteed.  However, our system is built on trust, so Ebay is no different.   When you give At&t or any entity your creditcard number or personal info, you are trusting them to do the right thing with it.   It is the same with Ebay; they try to do what they can to minimize scams.  The only part that becomes sticky is when after you have paid Paypal the person can choose not to send you the items you purchased.  Ebay is not responsible at this point. There are crooks and gapholes in every thing.  I purchased a van via Ebay.   I sold language cassettes via Ebay.  Both incidents were blessings.

To answer your question straight out; it is very  safe if you are the vendor.  You have to be a trusting soul if you are the buyer. Do as much background reading as you can.  If there is a negative response from a former customer,  do not minimize it.     When I  purchased the van, I was not about to send money via Paypal or anyone else's pal .    Only send that amount in which you are willing to trust.   Use your head if you order something that is large, it will take time to receive it for many reasons.

  8. dont you just hate it when you ask a question on here and people answer by saying "Sorry, I dont know".

....sorry I dont know, but I have been wondering that myself,

there are a lot of dodgy sellers on it. My advise is to only buy things from people who have had a lot of positive reviews

  9. no
