Is ebay the best place to sell homemade items?

I design t-shirts,ebay seems like a good deal,but I am not sure.What are the downsides?

i dont think there is adownside to it my aunt sells jewlery she makes all the time she thinks its a good place to sell homemade stuff

what kind of designs? screen print, sewing.... are they for men or women?

ebay's a great place to sell t-shirts, the downside to it is that there are 100000s of shirts already on there. How are you gonna get noticed? have something that people will want and I think you'll do fine. I'd try selling a couple of shirts first before buying 1000s and then having them sit in your house. Another tip i learned selling is that i'd buy say a Gwen STefani purse so all the people that looked at that purse would see the sentence underneath, PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER COOL STUFF... then they can see your shirts.

i say, list a few shirts. and offer varations, such as color of shirt, shirt size....

if they sell well, start selling like crazy and let the cash spill in.

clothes are easy to ship ans dont cost much as they are light in weight.

if it dosent work out, not like your losing anything.....

I would try two outlets at the same time.  Ebay and Etsy.  They are both popular.  Etsy costs a LOT less and your item listings don't expire.  Ebay, however, has a lot more viewers.

If you are going to sell on Ebay, I would definitly recommend you check out an eHow article on avoiding common eBay seller mistakes.  They can really kill auctions and put you out of business.  It's a quick read.  I would check it out before I listed a single item on eBay... bad listings on eBay cost too much money.
