Question:

Is economic globalization the same thing as globalism?

in general is seems that economic globalization is now seen to be a negative thing... am i right in thinking that? and can we call it globalism (its a term used by Beck (2002) to differentiate it from non-economic forms of globalization.

  1. Globalism can be seen as when the people of the world are a single society functioning together.  This can occur as economic, sociocultural, political, technological, ect...    So economic globalization is a part of globalism, but is not the same thing.


  2. Globalization is the means of the rich countries to exploit the underdeveloped countries.
