It is veg if the egg comes from a professional poultry farm caz the fertility to hen is done artificially and the egg can't be hatches to produce a chicken but if the egg is local house pet hen then can be hatched and can produce or give birth to chicken So  as per my ratting I ll stick with eggs being a vegetarian.

One should understand that every egg cant be hatched.  Only few eggs will have embryo to develop as chicken from egg.

Egg is non vegetarian because the process of it to grow in to a chick is  always going on and moreover its same like  a baby getting developed in to women womb.It cant be seen from outside but still has same life as human growth.Also milk is vegeterian because there are no cells present in milk which will furthur grow in to something and thus if milk is not extracted animals do suffer from diseases and also milk gets routen if not used in time.Today many eggs dont grow in to chicks and get routen if not used because these animals are injected with some steriods which make eggs  so and thats recent article also stated people having eggs in there daily life can suffer with cancer in more numbers than the people not eating them.

Veg is some thing from plant origin. Where as

Non Veg is all the products from animal origin whether its butter except peanut butter , milk cream, yogurt, cheese except made from soybean (tofu), all the meat products.

There are 3 types of vegetarians:

1). those who consume vegs along with milk and milk products... cheese, yogurt etc (which is also from animal origin) known as lacto vegetarian.

2). those who consume vegs along woth milk, milk products, eggs are known as  lacto-ovo vegetarians or eggtarians.

3). and those who consume vegs only (do not consume milk either) are known as Vegans.
