yes. it is so cool on new years! i was there last week. It is like the bomb!!~ i seriously mean bomb as in a bomb. You don't go to sleep until after3 o clock by tradition in my family. There is fireworks and not those puny little lights we have here. They go in the sky. It is so cool. No matter what, you will get burned, but its so cool!!!!!! Food is usually tamales or chicken + rice. You stay up all night either doing fireworks or you r in the streets playing soccer. it is a very nice event to experience. You should go yourself to see it. oh i almost forgot to tell you all the kids by tradition buy new clothes and wear it on the 24th and 31st  

technically the 25th and 1st since you stay up all night but anyways, in spanish the new clothes is tu estreno
