Presumably, a city near a dam pays less per kWH. Vegas is near Hoover Dam. Is electricity cheaper than in other parts of the country?

Is there a website that compares costs by city or region?

  1. Not necessarily, it all depends on where the electricity generated is being piped to.

  3. Electricity is not cheaper nearer to hydroelectric dams and certainly not in Las Vegas.  Very little of the power produced at Hoover Dam is used in LV.  Most is directed to California.
