  1. Only if you have the tariff for it.

  2. in arizona it is cheaper at night. but like in chicago it isnt.

other places im not sure of

  3. only if have economy 7 heating....

    cheaper after 7 pm..

i dont know what about in general tho..

  4. Rates are determined by the electric co, they are all different across the country, but night time rates are considered "off peak" usually from 8AM to 5pm is considered peak, after that they are lower. We run our dryer and washer on saturday, it's off peak on the weekends and holidays.

  5. check your tarrif is it economy 7 in the uk , usually cheaper after midnight used to be about half price

but the downside is that it is dearer than standard tarrif during daytime so you have to use as much of your power at night on economy 7  or it works out dearer.

it was designed for storage heaters in the old days so they could use the spare generating capacity at night time.

check your nightime units and make sur it is the best tarriff for you

    if not change it.

I would do all my laundry  at night and set my dishwasher to go on after midnight if i was on that tarriff

  6. Depends on the tariff you are on and your supplier.  Make sure you are on the right tariff if you use more electricity off peak as it can make a big difference to your bill.  Also shop around for the best supplier, prices do differ.
