Is emergency contraception effective? are the side effects harsh?

My friend recently took Plan B, within the last 24 hours. Is it safe?

You just feel sick. It passes.  and to the girl who said she was the 0.01 % who got pregnant.. she is wrong. its like 87 % effective.

i've tooken it twice....and i did not end up prego....the side effects i had was period like stomach cramps....

I am in the 0.01% who still got pregnant even after taking emergency contraception (and I only took it 13 hours after 'the event') But I want to assure you that the chances of this are next to none...I'm just really unlucky! Side effects - expect stomach cramps.
