If an employee pays for additional term life insurance and is terminated, is that employee entitled to keep that term insurance? The state in question is Pennsylvania. I know that health insurance is covered under Cobra, but is term life insurance covered under any laws?

  1. Term life is not subject to cobra, but most volunatry life plans can be continued.

Sometimes the rates and procedures to do this may vary, however.  See if you can get some contact info from your old employer. There should be a broker on the plan, or an 800 number for the company.  Even, if you can't reach anyone who can help, you will likely get a letter from the company inviting you to continue the coverage within 45 days of your termination.

  2. I would doubt it unless some state law applies.  COBRA is strictly for health coverage.

  3. From my own experience,When thinking about a way to help cover costs in the face of something unforeseen happening.I found useful tips here.http://lifeinsurance.online-helpers.info...

  4. With group ins., you can always deal directly with the company and take out an individual policy.Life ins is not covered under COBRA.
