Is end of August-beg. of Sept. a good time to go to Cancun?

I will be going to Cancun at the end of August for 5 days and I want to know if that is a good time to go... There was a travel deal and I jumped on it, and I'm just having second thoughts because it's Hurrican Season (from what I'm researching online)... If you have traveled to Cancun during that time... let me know how the weather was.

august and september is always cheaper but indeed its hurricane season so bring rain gear

Hurrican season and trip insurance is a no brainer.

More humidity evening thundrestorms and mosquitos.

November thru April is heaven down here............

I am traveling at the same time and have found much of the same information that the other posters have shared.  Prices are low at that time for a specific reason.   It is a little settlilng to know that the hurricane season should be nearing its end if that's any consulation.

It's a GREAT time if you don't mind it being 100 degrees and taking a chance of having a hurricane wiping out your vacation.
