  1. Nope, as for me it would be a very challenging course for you though because of that fact that you are weak in math & what-so-ever.

It would be great that you would just study hard and know your goal, you will then achieve and finish studying engineering. Of course with some trials and hardships along the way, some sort of way because also of your 'weakness" in math.

An advice, just know your goal and keep reaching for it!

    God bless!

  2. well to be honest... when it comes to engineering you need to be strong in math...and under no circumstance can you not like math.. you need to have an attitude that even if you cant do a problem that you will still stay at it till you figure something out because you like it....

.. i am doin engineering at the moment and yes you do need good foundation in math,,, but with hard work and dedication you could make it....maybe you could do some math courses before you get into engineering to strengthen your knowledge and gain confidence...engineering is like math and physics joined together....challenging but not impossible... well good luck hope you get through

  3. u r weak in maths doesn't necessarily mean that you are a loser. i mean, you have to have a basic in simple maths. and that's all, everything elase can be acquired through constant and regular hardwork.

you may feel out of place initially ,basically because in engg. you have to study  application of mathematical principles.

but most importantly, think and make sure whether you really want to take engg. or not. i mean its your life dude. you gotta take control of it if you ae really sure then go ahead and join and focus till you make it.

  4. hi,

I'm currently in my 4th and last year of a mechanical and electrical engineering apprenticeship. doing one is hard enough let alone trying to do the pair together. i myself have great difficulty in math and struggled with mechanical and electrical principles at college. but....with enough hard work and dedication to want to finish the course and get my certificates i did it. so i don't think being not very good at maths will stop you doing it but yes, it will be harder.

like u said, your family want you to do it but is it what you want to do? think hard and in the end the final decision is yours.

good luck with what you do, whatever you choose!

  5. yeah you need to be very very good on math to become an engineer. becuz you need to calculus etc. its pretty tough. my brother's an engineer and he does soooooo much math for hrs and hrs a night.

tell your parents that you have no intentions to become an engineer only becuz your math skills are low.

think of becoming a doctor, or go into marketing.
