i think that it is.  i agree that art imitates life, but much of the entertainment these days is not even close to art and life is starting to imitate entertainment.  there have always been many forms of entertainment, but they were seen as a privilege until recently.  entertainment is ruining society because its taking the place of real life.  people would rather watch other people live than actually do it themselves.  i'm as guilty as anyone of this.  its just right at our fingertips 24 hours a day and there is no need to go out and receive real stimulation from real people.

Not really.  People need diversion from the day to day grind of life; and there's every kind of entertainment available from grand opera to down and dirty p**n from which people can choose.  I'm not so happy, though, that in some entertainment media things like violence and prejudice are glorified.  That part's not good for society; but we don't live in a perfect world.

If Obama wins, yes.

Only if you accept that society IS being ruined and that there is empirical evidence to prove that the ruin is caused by entertainment. Until then, it could be anybody's opinion.
