Is ethiopia a democratic country?

because i dont think it is the people who rule it are dictators.

  1. It is definitely NOT democratic, as democracy would mean that people rule (by original definition of the word), which isn't the case in most countries, but those with plebiscitarian constitutions (like for example good ol' swiss, while this could also be debated)

    Ethopia in fact can be considered "more" democratic than many african countries. It is not a "president" democracy where one man is elected to rule all, but they have a parliament. As with most of the states that are inflicted by cultural, social and ethnical conflicts, still rising because of colonial ages, and in this case authoritarian socialism during the cold war, it's government is corrupt and serves the interest of capitalists and the military. The ruling party is currently accused of vote rigging.
