I am ethiopian but lately I have heard that lighter skinned ethiopians might have mixing with italians and arabs. I was wondering if that is true so because I have about a little bit darker then light skinned complexion. Please get back to me soon thank you.

  1. yeah all habesha are mixed with arab and some italian.

skin color doesnt determine that your skin color can easily be altered by the sun my cousin was light skinned and hen she found a full time job outdoors and there was sun everyday here in chicago and now shes dark skinned but thats cause shes been having that job for almost a decade now.

  2. i'm 100% ethiopian, i am the light skinned type as well, but after what you told me i guess you can never be to sure. I know i have some muslim blood in me from my dads side but i never thought about it that way.

Part Italian ethiopians make sense to me. The Italians invaded ethiopia around the world war too era. After the ethiopians won, a lot of Italians stayed in ethiopia and had families so I wouldn't be surprised.

  3. Well, I am 50% Ethiopian, and 50% Dutch, so I am obviously a lighter skinned black person.

My father is 100% Ethiopian, and is very very dark, although some of his brothers and sisters are much lighter, and they definitely have no Arabic or Italian blood.

    Genetics are fun!

  4. all africans are pure african. If you know who you are where your from and accept your cultutre, stip tryin to call your self another and reject your own .but dont hate it that your black. be proud of who you are and stop tryin to be solmethin you aint.

  5. i guess am same as some people but kinda really light so is my mom but dad is darker lol i tibk they mix oh ya am also oromo ^+^

  6. It's not really ITALIANS that's recent mixing and you can tell who's recently mixed. and it's not about light skinned because in the same family you can have dark light, teyem....so you can't go by that.

"Though present-day Ethiopia is a land of great ethnic diversity, the majority of Ethiopians speak different Semitic, Cushitic, and Omotic languages that belong to the Afro-Asiatic linguistic phylum. Maternal lineages of Semitic- (Amharic, Tigrinya, and Gurage) and Cushitic- (Oromo and Afar) speaking populations studied here reveal that their mtDNA pool is a nearly equal composite of sub-Saharan and western Eurasian lineages. This finding, consistent with classic genetic-marker studies (Cavalli-Sforza 1997) and previous mtDNA results, is also in agreement with a similarly high proportion of western Asian Y chromosomes in Ethiopians (Passarino et al. 1998; Semino et al. 2002"

don't worry bout none of that we're just Ethiopian and the mixing are a long time ago and now we're just Ethiopians.
