Is every solitaire deal winnable??

  1. If you play draw 1, yes, every deal is winnable

    If you play draw 3, no, not every deal is winnable

  3. yup, but you have to be really good to win every time.

  4. No.  Take for example if you were to deal all read face cards as the visible cards, and then all that was in the deck happened to be 2-9 cards.  This is obviously a very unlikely scenario, but there are plenty of other scenarios where the hand is unwinnable as well.

  5. There are many types of solitaire games.

    You probably mean "Klondike" Solitaire, which is the form you can find on all computers running Windows, called simply "Solitaire".

    For a "standard" game of Klondike (of the form: Draw 3, Re-Deal Infinite, Win 52) the number of solvable games is between 82-91.5%. The number of unplayable games is 0.025% and the number of games that cannot be won is between 8.5-18%.

    So roughly one or two of every ten games are unsolvable, depending on the game options (draw one or three cards etc.) .
