Is every thing expensive in Guadeloupe?

Question

I,m planning to live in Guadeloupe in 2 year. I want to know is apartment expensive in Guadeloupe. I got many but I,m not rich. I already have a job ready for me up there but its not a high paying job. Would I be able to servive there. I cant speak french worth a c**p. sike I been speaking French since i was in 8th grade.

Guadeloupe is cheap compared with some of its Caribbean neighbours where housing and food are concerned, but it is more expensive than Metropolitan France. Many things are highly taxed, although local produce is cheaper. You would, of course, be paying French income tax, which is notoriously high. Still, local people manage to get by and if you adjust your budget and live in the local style, you should manage. I think that it is probably less dangerous than many Caribbean countries, but you will have to be careful -- as you would in most places.
