Is every version of Itunes compatible with every Ipod?

Hi! I have an Ipod video, but haven't used it for a while. Today I tried to put some new songs on it, but Itunes said it couldn't read my Ipod. I've heard that you have to use a certain version of Itunes with every Ipod, is that true? If so, does anyone know what version is compatible with my Ipod video? (I can't find the cd that came with it) Thank you!

Yes the newest itunes available at apple.com can be used with every single ipod out

You don't need a specific itunes unless you have one of the latest ipods.They need itunes7.6 or higher. Your ipod is probably corrupt, you need to reset it and try again.

Just go to apple.com then the downloads tab and you can download the newest version of itunes from there.
