I am not talking about myself or any specific individual. Can everyone achieve the goal of getting a college degree? Or, are some people not bright enough to pass college courses with at least a C average?

  1. No. Some people are either too dumb for it. Others are smart enough but have never learned how to really learn on their own. Because college does not hold your hand like high school did. College needs hard work and discipline. Most colleges grade on a curve and flunk the bottom 20% or so of each class no matter how hard everyone worked.

If you treat college like high school, where they nag you to do your work, you will fail. You have to discover how the system works on your own and it is not like high school. This is one of the most important tests and they do not tell you about it.

  2. I would say not everyone is academically-minded enough to get a bachelor's degree. There are plenty of stupid people earning degrees, but if you have the right work ethic, basic academic skills (test-taking, reading, and critical thinking), and a commitment to completing the degree (time, money, effort)... you can do it. There are plenty of smart people who don't earn degrees. Such is life. :)
