Question:

Is everyone depressed?

Well, everyone goes through hard times in their life as I have discovered. If you aren't going through hard times, you aren't living. Is it possible that everyone is depressed, but some people are simply more susceptible to the effects of depression? I don't think I have met a person that is happy 24/7. and it generally seems that more moments are bad than good in life.

I'm asking because I feel like I might actually have depression, but I am not allowing it to rule my life or even enter my mind. It does run in my family, but I feel like I can keep control over it. Is this normal, and is this healthy?

  1. You can say that ALMOST everyone is depressed to some extent and everyone is happy to some extent. But there are degrees of happiness. Pychologists have studied this. It is possible to be much happier than other 24/7. See site below to see more on this.

  2. I think your assessments and methods of dealing with depression are totally normal and healthy. Best wishes. UK

  3. I think we can all have depressive thoughts from time to time that is just human, but there are many people without the resources within themselvves to answer those thoughts with the truth and hope they are needing.

I think, forearmed is forewarned too, you know it can be a problem in  your family and you have probably learned a few ways to cope that others who deny such things and existence of problems haven't done.

All the best and I hope you keep on top of your mind.
