Why is gas so expensive? its unbelievable...What can we do to get the oil companies back-am so sick of spending 80 dollars a week on gas. its 3.40 or so a gallon here in Peoria,illinois--I use premium-I have to-engine calls for it...

everyone is mad at it, and i think that we should sue the oil companies because they have 100,000's of extra barrels of oil for "emergencies" if thats for emergencies why the h**l did gas prices go high as h**l during katrina??? and why is gas so high now???? and we should sue the government for letting oil companies do this, this is illegal what they are doing, i studied this in my business class they should not raise prices like this

I am mad too.  That's why I changed job closer to home so I can save on gas.  Try to carpool if you can.  Or, try to get more pay from your work.

Sorry not me, I love high gas prices!

I spend about $20 a week on gas...I live and work in the same city.

I love to laugh at people that complain about gas prices as they fill up their behemoth and start their 50 mile commute to work! Do I feel bad for them? No.

What do people expect? The days of cheap gas are over. Drive a responsible car (first of all one that doesn't require premuim gas like yours)...live and work close to home....it's that easy.

Well yes we all are except the RICH ...they don't care. It is killing us actually. Watch Cnn...the middle class will soon be the poor. Then there will only be the RICH. Gas in San Francisco is just over 4.00 gal..Here in SDiego it varies about 30 cents a gal. My town it is 3.35-39 gal. By the way these are all for REGULAR. In March I bought a used 2002 New VW Beetle. The gas mileage is nice. Only about 40.00 to fill the tank at the 3.35 a gal or so. AND I dont go anywhere that I dont absolutely have to. Our FordF150 takes nearly the 80.00 bucks to fill up.  My theory is this....it''s all the same really but...fill up at the 1/2 tank and the cost is 1/2. U will drive what you have to....but it seems to make a difference, and seems to not cost as much when you do fill it. My idea always gets shot down....BOYCOTT  gasoline....Make the Stations close on the weekends NO ONE BUY GAS ON SAT OR SUN....ever.  STAY HOME....do something with the family like cardgames, and BBQ. Paint the bathroom. Something just dont go anywhere on the weekends...and don't buy gasoline....Since all the outsourcing...and all the oil is in the Middleeast....WHY do you think we are at war in Iraq....FOR THE OIL....AND THAT IS IT....not winning the war means not getting the oil....The terriorists know it and will keep up their crapola until we are out of there completely. They actually have 2 issues....Religion and the oil. I have not left the house since last Thursday. One week today. No I dont work. 55 and Retired..& ..lovin it. I am finally completing my projects at home.

Yup..Sad part is that it is all a scam. It is totally ridiculous. Remember last year when the prices went way up and then we find out later that Exxon Mobil recorded the highest profits ever..and all the while we claim we cannot support our elderly or our poor...its just wrong.

man, wish i could spend 3.40 a gallon for gas. Gas here in the Dominican Republic (same across the nation as it is governmentally regulated) for regular unleaded is 4.75, and for premium is 5.30. Diesel is less at 3.90, so a lot of diesel cars here, lots of small cars, and lots of 125cc motorcycles.

Gas is so expensive because people will pay it. If consumers as a whole decided they won't pay that anymore and bought cars with high mpg, it would bring prices down, due to less demand and oil companies would spend more on research for alternative and cheaper ways to make engines go. But until that happens, prices will go up. It's the same with diamonds, Debeers owns a majority of the worlds diamonds, but holds back some to inflate prices. If consumers wanted change, they'd make one. If I manufactured a good, and I could charge 3X the price and have people who'd pay it, I would. That's how the free market works, supply and demand. Supply down, demand up=high prices, nothing new.

might be able to get away with lower grade gas in the winter.  Gas is expensive because it is too hard to get into that industry as it is basically an Oligopoly. Competition leads to lower prices lack of competition leads to the consumer getting screwed.

Vote straight ticket Democrat.  It's absolutely amazing how that Bush / Cheney "vote-for-me-and-I'll-give-you-a-$325 tax rebate" bribe failed to cover the increase in gas prices since those goons took over this nation, isn't it?  But, God would not have made them sheep if He did not want them sheared.
