Two questions.... one being is everyone stearing clear of Newborn and Baby? I've noticed a lot of contacts have been answering questions else where lately following question being deleted and what not.

Also, how old is your baby and how much does it sleep/ feed during the night? My little angel is 4 1/2 months and she wakes several times each night and gets fed twice! I'm back at work in 2 weeks so I'm begining to panic.

  1. I've been starting to frequent other sections because its the same old questions over and over again. does your baby sleep through the night? should my baby be fed solids? my baby is super hungry what should I do? my babies p**p looks like this? when did you bring your child outside for the first time? Should I circumsize or not? formula vs. breastmilk?

my son is 18 months and sleeps through the night now, we let him do his own thing because I'm a believer there is some reason why he's waking up and I refuse to let my child cry at night because I dont think he's a little bit thirsty, when he really is. He just started sleeping through the night at 15 months all on his own.

As for your question, your baby is so small, feed her when shes hungry even at night time, I look at my son and say wow, you've grown so much I can see what you did with all that milk I fed ya. I always found that night time feedings were the most peaceful and the most bonding, I would say to try to get accustomed to it. But thats just me and the way I think if you dont agree with the way I think go ahead and thumbs down me thats another reason why I frequent other sections is because other moms can't handle other moms advice and experience.

  2. My daughter is 5 months and she wakes up twice durning the night to eat. I Have put her on baby food already and it seems to be helping.

  3. At 4 months my daughter was still waking once at night to eat.  She didn't start STTN (from around 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.) until she was 7 months old.

Esp. if you are putting your baby to bed early (like 7 or 8 p.m.) you can expect her to wake a couple of times at night for quite some time yet.  Babies have tiny tummies, and most simplly CAN'T sleep 8-10 hours without eating at this age.

  4. I'm relatively new to Newborn and Baby, so I'm not leaving any time soon.

My little Sally is 5 weeks old.  She sleeps 4-5 hours at a time at night and feeds about twice.  The night before last, she slept for seven hours!  I ran in there after 6 hours and held my finger under her nose to check that she was breathing!  I am going back to work on Monday (so sad!).

  5. I like how you slipped a real question in there.  You're thinking ahead. That's good.

I have been in the Newborn & Baby section since January.  This is my second account, after getting suspended for posting innapropriate material.  I've answered a lot of questions, asked a lot of questions, and made a lot of friends...

...but, I think my work here is, for the most part, done.  There are people in Men's Health and Singles & Dating who desperately need my experience, strength, and expertise in such matters as green p***s film, and sticking beer bottles up their butt.  I simply can't ignore such urgent problems;  it would be un-Christian of me to do so.

My baby is 8 months old, and he wakes several times each night.  He doesn't usually want a full feeding; more often he is just jonesing for a quick nip.

I think you will be amazed at how quickly your body will adjust to less sleep.  I am a shining example of that; I sleep for about 3-4 hours a night, and I'm top mental and physical condition!

  6. Have you thought about giving your baby a 'dreamfeed?'   Right before you go to bed, gently pick her up so she doesn't wake.  Tickle her mouth with the nipple (your own or the bottle, however you are feeding) and give her a couple of seconds. You may need to do it a couple of times, and then all of a sudden she will open her mouth. Pop the nipple in and she will start sucking away - without even waking.   You should be able to get a few hours off of this, and it should take her down to only one waking in the night, although may take a few nights because she could still wake out of habit.

My son is almost 7 weeks, I've been giving him a dreamfeed for almost 2 weeks now and he's finally down to just one night waking. I dreamfeed him at 11pm and he wakes any time between 3am - 4am for a night feed.

  7. ive noticed a few absent people on here too!! i think its to do with all the b**ching that has been going on by a certain member, (we all no who!)

my wee man is 5 months now! :) he was such a good sleeper, but he has been waking up a lot the last few nights! he loves his foo! drinks 7-9 oz a time! but he doesnt get fed during the night! last bottle around 8:30, and thats him till maybe 8 in the morning!

try adn get them to drink a bit more per feed, especially the last one,

  8. My daughter will be 4 months on Tuesday... shes been sleeping through the night since she was 3 weeks old. I usually put her to bed around 930-10 and she wakes up between 7-8. She eats about 6-6.5 oz around 7am-11am-2-5-8- and ill top her up with about 4 oz right before bed and she sleeps doesnt wake up once

    Good Luck!

  9. Yeah....I've noticed. But, I'm always in either Newborn and Baby or Toddler and Preschooler. I have no interest in other questions, I guess......

And my baby (well, not really a baby anymore...*sigh*) is 21 months old. She sleeps usually around 12-13 hours a night..which is heavenly. She slept from 900 last night, till around 830 this morning.

Also, around 430 this morning, she woke me up talking in her sleep. It was mostly baby babbling, but it made me laugh out loud...just thought I'd share that....LOL

  10. I wander.

I still check in here... But I visit a few other sections too (Parenting, Polls & Surveys, Reality TV, NASCAR, etc.).  Drama was getting too high around here for a while.

I'm still here though.  Just a little quieter, that's all.  :)

And as for your other question........... (Don't shoot me, lol).  Johnny's been sleeping thru the night since he was a newborn.  Except for the teething occasions, where he wakes up 2-3 times a night.

  11. I'm still here, I've just been kinda busy lately.

When my girls were that age they weren't eating at all at night anymore but one of them woke several times a night for comfort until she was like a year old.

It was hard.  I had to return to work when they were just 2 weeks old so believe me, I've BTDT.  You'll adjust to it.

  12. My son is 17 months old now but when he was a newborn he would wake up every 2 hours on the nose to eat. Finally I talked his dr about it at his 3 month check up and he told me that it was safe to start him on rice cereal at 3 months or 13lbs, whichever came first. So I started giving him some cereal about 15-20 minutes before bed and he went from waking up 4-5 times a night to only once. Not to mention he seemed much more content throughout the day when I was giving him a small amount of cereal for breakfast. Maybe talk to your dr about starting to give your daughter small amounts of cereal twice a day.  Good luck.

  13. I still stalk the newborn and baby section like an old highschool boyfriend, so no worries on my part!  But I have noticed that people seem to be drifting off a bit. I think it has to do with the fact that some people on here are just plain rude and others report anything and everything. Last week I had a question about who your favorite mommy on the site was reported and deleted.

Anyway. My daughter is 6 months old and she varies a LOT from night to night. Sometimes its 3 or 4 times and others it is once. I try to only feed her one time though, since she eats at 8 and then again at 6 anyway.

  14. LOL betwix, you know how to make me laugh.

I have been trying to go to different sections, parenting, grade school, polls and surveys is always fun.  butthe drama is everywhere, not jsut in newborn.....

Olivia is almost 9 months now and we co-sleep, she probably wakes up 3 times or so to nurse, its usually not for long, I think she just likes to make sure Im still there.

  15. I'm still here :o)

Brady's 11 1/2 months old now and (thankfully!) the little peanut's been sleeping soundly through the night since he turned 12 weeks old.  There was the odd occasion where he'd wake in the middle of the night and I'd nurse him (when I still was, that is).  You got used to getting up for nighttime feedings and although it will be an adjustment to get up in the morning and go to work too, it will only be a matter of time before that's routine too.  I've got to go back to work on Oct. 1 so I feel some of your pain!  It will be a very sad day but unfortunately my income is needed so there's no other choice.  Good luck for your first day back!

  16. Thank you for taking the time to stalk everyone's answering habits. We love you too!

  17. I've noticed that too. I've ventured into the parenting and hockey sections on occasion...but I'm not going anywhere. I am addicted to the newborn and baby section.

Ben is almost 9 months, used to sleep through the night for 12 hours but has since forgotten. He hardly ever has any interest in night feedings. I work full time and have been a worthless zombie since coming back. Welcome to the fun!

  18. My  2 1/2 month old sleeps from 9.30pm to about 7am. She will wake up twice for a diaper change and to eat then go right back to bed.
