I have not received mine yet. I only made $5000 last year, due to staying home with my daughter and son. I am recently single and I filed my tax return seperately. My ex claimed the kids......am I entitled to any of the money he gets for them which totals $600.

  1. Not everyone gets a stimulus check, you have to qualify.  But if you filed a tax return with $5000 income from working, you should be eligible for $300.

As to the kids, the parent who claims them gets the extra money for them, so you aren't legally entitled to any of the $600.  If he wanted to be decent about it, he'd probably at least split it with you, but he doesn't have to.

  2. No, not everyone is supposed to get one.  I thought I was going to receive one, but I went on this website entered my social and told me that I'm not receiving one and why. Hope it helps.

  3. nope

  4. Yes you should. The cut off, was you had to make $3000. I not sure if you will get 600 or 350.

  5. only one parent gets the stimulus money for the dependents, and it is the one who claims them on their income taxes ad dependents.

You ***MAY*** get some for your own taxes, but I don't know the minimum amount you had to make.

if you go to www.irs.gov and check out the rules, you will get good information from there.

I'd also check about claiming the kids.  It used to be that the parent who had them more than half the time would have the claim rights unless it was stated in a divorce decree or something.  I don't know the rules anymore.

  6. Your tax return would make you eligible for $300.

Your ex-husband may get $600 for claiming the 2 children, but he doesn't have to share any of that with you.  (If he's behind on child support, the state may grab the money.)

  7. no  next time you claim the kids

  8. not everyone gets one.  go to the irs website and you can find out for sure if you get one, how much it will be, and when you wil receive it.

  9. you better file for child support immediately - your are hurting your kids by not doing that and the longer you wait - he doesn't have to pay any support until you actually file, so you have probably already given up $1000's of tax free income - do it now! He should give you half of the tax benefit from claiming the 2 kids (worth about $700+ easy in tax refund, plus half of the kids portion of the rebate check, plus 1/2 of the child tax credits he got for the kids - don't be such a pushover - YOU should claim the kids from now on if they live with you- you may also be giving up EIC credits and child tax credits ($1000 each kid)
