Is evolution the truth and not the bible? Can a one sided mind comprehend such a thing?

Why are there so many religions? Do people need something else after death? Can people cope with death after life? Is religion used as a mental crutch in most cases? What makes God real? The bible? Is God real?

  1. there is no such thing as evolution!

Microevolution is the Variation WITHIN genetic boundaries; even our own children have different variations in eye, hair and skin color - a better name for microevolution would be micro variation!

However, it is NOT evolution at all because the genetic material and variations already exist.

A worm cannot turn into an eagle!   That would be true evolution or what is more commonly known as macroevolution.

When we hear about a frog turning into a prince we KNOW that’s a fairytale – yet when scientists seeking only to be right, not absolute truth, tell us that a salamander turned into a human millions or billions of years ago – we call that Macro evolutionary science instead of Science fiction, which is the more accurate term!

Evolution is the greatest engine of atheism invented by the mind of man!

  2. God is real and so is evolution

  3. The thing is, it's not "christian" evidence vs. "atheist" evidence, they all use the same evidence, they just look at it through "christian goggles" and "atheis goggles".  If you look at evidence expecting it to say the earth is 6000 years old, that is what you will see. If you expect to see evidence of a billion-year old earth that is what you will see.

Atheists can not say that christians are wrong just because we haven't found a rock with "God wuz here" scratched into it.

  4. There's nothing after death.

    Sorry... but them's the breaks.

MBC H... Where did you get your Biology degree?

    A box of Cracker Jacks???

  5. "salamander turned into a human millions or billions of years ago – we call that Macro evolutionary science instead of Science fiction"

You find me the scientist who says a salamander turned into a human being, and I might believe you have a point. I'm not holding my breath though.

"If you look at evidence expecting it to say the earth is 6000 years old, that is what you will see. If you expect to see evidence of a billion-year old earth that is what you will see."

Loath as I am to come to the defence of atheists, there is no preconceived agenda forcing anybody to conclude that the earth is 4,000 million years old. The only reason for coming to that conclusion is the weight of evidence which supports it.

  6. You don't need the Bible to believe in God. I believe in evolution, but I also believe in a force behind evolution, an architect which helped shape organisms over the course of history (call him God, Allah, etc...).

The vast amount of religion is product of man seeking to communicate with a world far more larger and mysterious than his own. We seek God because we seek knowledge. Knowledge of where we come from, knowledge of the world that surrounds us. Knowledge of life, of death. Religions have evolved over the course of history as well, being shaped by different beliefs and laws of its preceding spiritual leaders. Modern christianity didn't just pop out of nowhere, it took many years for it to change and adapt, same as with all other religions.

Religion can be limiting in people's ability to look beyond their own religion. Most people see their religion as the only religion of importance, and all other religions as inferior or useless. This creates many close-minded people who limit themselves to only their religion and attach themselves strongly to it as their pillar of faith. If their faith crumbles, their hearts crumble as well.

Believing in something better after death is actually soothing for me. I may be wrong, but why live a life in which there is nothing after death? Ignorance is bliss :).

Are the teachings of the bible real? Yes. Is the Bible a book of history? No. It's historic, but it's pseudoscientiffic. The bible is a book of spiritual growth, not a book of History or Science.

Is God real? Only if you want to believe he is.

  7. We are nothing more than masses of atoms bind up together to create some thing that we’ve overcomplicated called life. The only difference between us life forms and a rock is that we are organized by a long strand of macromolecule. Our emotions are nothing more than brain waves and our belief, nothing more than an overdose of the gene we named Vmat2 and more brain waves. As for the afterlife, whether it be rotting in the river Styx, going to heaven or h**l, or being reincarnated as a snake, it is nothing more than the Vamat2 gene and our brain waves doing its job, making us believe in the supernatural. So what makes us life forms so special from all other matter in the universe, other then the fact that we are all made of organized structures taking orders from a macromolecule? After all we’re made from the same material that makes a grain of sand, but just organized in a different way. So why doesn’t a rock go to heaven or h**l or become reincarnated after it erodes? Face it, we are nothing more than just brain waves and chemical elements.

Besides, we do not need an afterlife. It is because there is no afterlife that makes this one life so precious. If there is an afterlife, then what is the point of living? With an afterlife, you take away all beauty of the life you currently live. We don’t need an afterlife to live the life we have right now so seeing as how this is the only life we have, why not enjoy all it has to offer rather than worrying about something that doesn’t exist after we die?

  8. This is 9 questions.

Evolution is a scientific theory to explain the origin of earth.  It has it's problems.  There are Christians who believe God used evolution to create the earth.

I am fairly ambidextrous--does this mean I use both sides of my mind?

There are so many religions because we are humans.

Everyone has a need to believe this life has meaning.  People who don't, tend to not last long.

People have been dying since Cain killed Abel--we cope.

No, religion answers the question "what is the meaning of life?"

    God IS.

    The Bible is God's Word.

    God IS real.
