Is eye rolling learned behaviour or instinctual? Do other primates do the same thing?

  2. Eye rolling is a learned behavior. It is  used to convey emotional reaction.

  3. well,  i'd instictual and behaviour. people roll there eyes to not have to look at the person they are looking at.

    Ahhh,  the joys of eye-rolling,  stomping,  door-slamming,  "YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND" screaming teens.

  7. It is definitely a learned behavior.  Other primates may roll their eyes, but it may not translate to mean annoyance or exasperation like it does in our culture, just like the way the meanings of nodding and head-shaking are reversed in some cultures.
