  1. Yep, FAFSA is federal grant money, meaning that its the government giving it to you and NO you don't have to pay it back.

  2. No, the FAFSA is the form all students must fill out in order to be eligible for ANY form of federal student aid (loans and/or grants). It's the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Grants and scholarships are the only free money you can receive. Federal loans (subsidized or unsubsidized) must be repaid no matter what.

  3. FAFSA is the name of the application.

The money you are applying for MIGHT be free if you qualify.  If you don't qualify for the free money (called grants) you would qualify for loans, which you must pay back.

  4. Yes this is free the only one you will end up paying back is LOANS. So See you in school somewhere, right?

  5. FAFSA is just a form you file to recieve aid from the government.  Not all of the aid is free.  The government offers loans, grants, and work-study money.
