  1. Mostly depends on what you buy and where you live, it is mostly cheaper and of course way more healthier and cruelty and death free. And like you can get plain TVP and wheat gluten and easily cook them very cheaply, a pound is like a dollar or two here.

  2. it depends actually

veggie meat is usually cheeper then real meat

unless you buy like real cheap meat or something

and omg i knooo veggie meat is really really goooood!!!!

you deff have to try the veggie buffilo wings!!

but yea i think for the most part its cheeper then real meat

also youll feel alot better for buying that then real meat cauz your saveing lives <3

  3. I think it is more expensive than regular meat.

However, this is comparing plain ground meat with premade and spiced veggi burgers.

The 20oz ground turkey is $2.59. This is NOT prepared for burgers yet.

The 5oz - 12oz Morning Star food is $3.29. You are paying less than a dollar more to get 1/4 - 1/2 the food.

If you made the "fake meat" from scratch, it would be cheaper. You can also buy pre-made meat for 3 times the ground turkey price. It depends on what you get.

  4. I believe they are the same cost. Some meat-eaters don't want to eat fake meat because they think they could never live without real meat, which is not true if they really tried.

  5. Actually, we buy this textured vegetable protein from those little south asian stores. It comes dry, but you boil it and use any spices you want for flavour. It's usually labeled "Soy Meat" and the texture is really filling. [Very] cheap stuff and we usually stock up (because it keeps forever).

If you buy it pre-packaged and flavoured, it'll end up costing a lot more (like those amazing veggie-portabello burgers...yum =]).

    Hope that helps!

  6. I just had a vegan sloppy joe and it was delicious. In my case and in the place where I live (Philippines), fake meat is pretty cheaper than chicken meat. But we dont have morning star and fake chicken nuggets here, all we have are Texture Vegetable Protein. And a 100 grams pack of Textured Vegetable Protein costs 30cents. And chicken meat usually costs 3 dollars for a kilo. A lot of savings dont yah think?
