My husband graduates from BCT in october, and his AIT is in our hometown. I've heard that family could take him to his AIT, just could not take him home.

  1. NO! it's official movement, usually a group will be flown or bused to AIT!

At least you can try and visit him on weekends if he has free time!

  2. If your not sure ask your hubby to ask his commanding officer. His CO can tell him yes or no and any other information.

  3. harry hancock is wrong...

Yes. Your solider needs to request POV movement to his next duty station ...or ait.

The only draw back with that...depending on how far it is, will depend on how long they give you to get there. usually no more than a day..but if the travel is more than 8 hours, they MIGHT give you two days.

  4. only if he gets permission BEFOREHAND.

  5. If he was given tickets to travel there and it is in a different base than his BCT he can travel with the family.  But once he is there he has to live in the barracks like everyone else.  If he gets any off-post passes he can come home if your town is right outside of his AIT base.
