  1. Yes...single muslim women are also suppose to fast

fasting, by the way, is not just for controlling sexual desires...the point is to feel how the unfortunate in the world feel like without food

  2. yes.

  3. i try and fast twice a week

    sexual desires.....i dont need

to control them, coz i know

    im always gonna keep myslef

    for my dream guy..

i fast for my prayers to be

    answered, and for the happiness

of the people i love and care about

  4. yes, its recommended for both the genders.

The Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.)said : "O young people! Whoever among you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty. And whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes one's sexual power".

    Rest Allah knows the best~!

  5. yes it is for both.

and the youth/the unmarried is recommended to do so and it isn't compulsory.

and it does work, at the same time the imaan needs to increase.  If you are weak in imaan, many things might not work as its suppose to.

  6. All people who have reached 10 years old are required to fast.  If the girl gets her period at 9 years old then she's an adult and is required to fast all day.  Children from 7-8 can fast half a day so they get used to it when they reach puberty.  It doesn't matter if you are single or married.  Everyone who is able and in good health is required to fast.  Otherwise they should feed 60 poor people for each day they missed, or fast for 2 months after Eid Al Fitr, along with women making up the 7-10 extra days they missed due to being on their period during Ramadan.  Since girls are getting their periods as young as 8 years old especially in the West, caused by all the hormones put into milk, vegetables, fruit, dairy and meat products, this causes an unwanted balance in the person's body, making them start puberty and their period(if their a girl) earlier with each new generation.  Boys begin puberty at 11, so from 11+ boys are required to fast all day.  Pregnant and breastfeeding women aren't required to fast because they will get pregnant every 2 years and then breastfeed for 2 more years.  This would make it impossible for them to make up their fasts.  But they should feed 60 poor people for each Ramadan they miss.

  7. yes she has to if she is able to

  8. It is recommended for women too. But it doesn't work. When I was single I had to take a shower three times a day even while fasting. It was totally humiliating although I didn't tell anyone. You may be taking the wrong approach if it's taking you too long to find an interested female. There are millions of them around you know. Since you are Shia, you are permitted to arrange a Seerah marriage with an older Muslim woman, or a believing Christian or Jewish woman. But you should run it by your parents and your imam before you approach anyone in marriage. It's a way to help a non-Muslim woman get to know about Islam. But you can only do a permanent marriage with her if she accepts Islam, according to Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri. Otherwise, if you want to jump into a permanent relationship, talk to your parents about the possibility of moving a woman in as your wife. That is better than your prayers being distracted until you are financially independent. You will find that your work improves after marriage.

  9. O hai! u mke no sense! fasting is prescribed 4 thos who r able to fast, both male/female!

Shame even kiteh no's betta dn u!

  10. then how about this for a change.............

    i like what zahra said.

i agree i have no problem alhumdilillah, so thats why i honestly think that guys have it worse than girls, from my perspective.

  11. young men and women face the problem of controlling their sexual desires and this is something which is normal and something that is acknowledged by Islam.  Whether or not one needs to fast in order to keep the desires in check is an individual issue.  I am sure women do so, however it does not come to the mind of most people a girl would do this to suppress her sexual desires.  Because this is seen (particularly in eastern cultures) as a problem for men only and girls are usually bombarded with all kinds of horror stories to scare them and keep them celibate until marriage.

  12. fasting is not just about controling sexual desire, if that is what you are refering to.

Edit: well if you wanna get explicit, we can definitely control ourselves without fasting.

  13. Fasting is for everyone who is able to. The ones who are excused are young children, people with illness, and pregnant women. To answer your question, yes, single people are strongly recommended to fast, just liek their married brothers and sisters.
