Well, I guess you could make an argument that the American ideal of "fatherhood" is a social construct.  Obviously, being the father of a child is biological, but the social values regarding what the role of the father is with regards to the child's upbringing is definitely the product of the society where the definition is created.

  3. Motherhood is a fact. Fatherhood is a social, cultural and historical construct. It is a social role that obligates men to their biological offspring.
