  1. It is possible for Fax to be used "directly" over Internet.

You will need to subscribe to a VoIP service that supports Fax over Internet.  Also, VoIP will only work if the VoIP service is using G.711a high bandwidth Codec.  Any other lower bandwidth codec will not work.

There is also a new codec called T.38 which is specifically designed for real-time Fax over Internet.  I'm not sure which services directly support T.38.  But, the Linksys SPA-2102 VoIP adapter does include support for the T.38 codec:

  2. Take a look at this review of all the fax services available...http://faxing-service-review.toptenrevie...

  3. you can get it through the internet

  4. It can be provided through internet. That's what we use at work and we call it RightFax.

  5. Go to eFax, it's a program that you can download (but it cost money) and you can have faxes sent straight to your email.. There are some others out there that are free, try searching for free faxing by computer or something!
