Is feeding adult dog food to my puppy bad for her?

I live in a place where there is a VERY limited option of dog food and I bought some for her and mashed it up and she absolutely loved it, but the tin was in a different language and I can't understand it. Will it be bad for her to continue eating it?

  1. you should only feed your puppy the right foods, if puppy foods are not available then you should make it yourself, out of boiled chicken, or grilled meats grind the food up and and add small amounts of multi- vitamins  to it, kids chweables work good, this will work until you can get puppy food.

  2. If you can't read it, you don't know what's in.. in most cases feeding adult dog food to puppies is a very bad idea. There is not enough protein or fat content for them to develop properly and as they age you will see problems like arthritis or other joint problems. Find a way to get good puppy food, something you can understand!

  3. No, it will not be. Animals in the wild do not get that option of puppy food and adult food, everyone eats the same thing and they are all fine.

Feed her what you can and what she will eat, she will be great!

  4. Some people never feed a puppy puppy food, they think it makes the puppy fat.  I guess you will have to do what is best for you and your puppy.

  5. It won't harm her but it won't provide the key things she needs. Puppy food is usually higher in protein and has the vitamins and minerals needed to allow your puppy to grow. I guess it's the same sorta thing as feeding a baby baby food rather than adult.

  6. It's not going to hinder her , but there is more then a difference in size of the bites between adult dog food and puppy dog food. Puppy dog food has more nutrients that the puppies need for growing up and adult dog food has more for there activity level and age same with elderly dog food. So you should continue buying puppy food for you puppy until it is older. I would also recommend not buying food with a label you can't read it could be telling u that there is poison in the dog food.

  7. In a lot of cases, it is just fine.  Try looking for an "all stages" food for your dog.  That way you avoid a change as well.  To learn more about evaluating and selecting a good food for your dog, check out http://www.dogfoodproject.com/
