Is feminism responsible for the falling standards in film and TV?

Is feminist influence responsible for the falling standards in film and TV in Brit and the US? They seem to have infiltrated the media like some kind of fifth column.

Can the cinematic arts now ever return to normality?

  1. On a scale of 1 to 10 or stupidity this question must be at about the 8 or 9 level

  2. I thought you were going to support your question with a site.  Please explain:

"They seem to have infiltrated the media like some kind of fifth column"

    What is a fifth column?

Besides the retired Lilly Zanuck, I know of no female producers, or media magnates.  Oprah isn't making movies anymore, and isn't exactly a feminist.

I would be very interested in how feminists are taking over the cinema in a way that would give them the power to cause a fall in the standards.

Logically, you must establish that they are in control, before they can have any causal effect.

  3. Aren't you the same guy that likes 'The Sound of Music'? I don't think you're the best person to judge what constitutes 'falling standards'.

  4. How exactly? You haven't explained how you think feminism is responsible for falling standards in film and TV! I would be interested in how you justify this question!

I suppose if your car broke down one day it would be becasue of feminism too.....

  5. Are we taking a page out of Anatol's book now?

Shame, it's rarely funny we he posts it and you, well you just don't do the routine justice.

  6. Since when have the controlling media enterprises been run by women...let alone those who espouse feminism?

What are you talking about?  The dumbing down, commercialisation of TV, the reality shows and the hours of mindless soaps are all feminsits fault, because they want to do what?? Feminism was all about awakening societal consciousness in men and women not crushing the bloody life out of it with XFactor, American bloody Idol and Big Brother!!

So, now we will return to normality - and that is...reruns of Gilligan's Island, I Love Lucy and Dixon of Dock Green for us Brits...Good Grief...they were right when they said TV is not there to educate..stupid!

  7. Something is that's for sure, what i can't say

  8. Never! We evil feminists have only one evil goal...and that is TAKE OVER THE WORLD! Pinky and the brain...Pinky and the Brain...one is a genius the others insane! Wait, where am I?

  9. What have you got against feminism? All it means is women being treated equally. Or are you also in favour of racism, anti-semitism and ageism?

I don't understand how treating women like human beings rather than s*x objects has resulted in falling standards. Standards have fallen thanks to more and more channels chasing fewer people. Mike Yarwood could pull in over 20 million viewers at his height. These days, top programmes do well to get half that. The lowest common denominator wins, as the appalling rubbish seen on Sky proves.

  10. Oh, Dear lord.

Have you and that nut job Anatol been comparing notes, or something? Careful, we'll have to separate you two.

  11. No. Once we've finished off the ozone layer and the rainforest then we'll turn on TV. If there's one thing all feminists hate it's entertainment. Grrrr!

  12. Falling standards? There's just more bad TV, not less good TV. And you don't see the old bad TV so you don't know how much was bad (because they tend not to repeat the *bad* programs) - so it's kind of a biased sample.

  13. Listen, if you absolutely must imitate Anatol, don't forget the random capitalization. I cannot stress this enough.

  14. Are you friends with Anatol or something?

  15. Thats a very valid question. You see more and more TV shows where the husband is a good-for-nothing loser and pushover like "Everybody Loves Raymond." It makes feminists feel empowered watching shows like that but it sends a dangerous message to the kids....

  16. NO - why should that be?

Are you saying that all that goes wrong in the world is down to feminism?

    Please explain yourself.

  17. perhaps.
