Is fencing Armour light?

Compared to what?  It's pretty much thick clothing, and the mask isn't too heavy either.  If you've ever dressed up in heavy winter clothing to stay out in the snow for extended periods of time, you've most likely worn heavier clothing than fencing armor.

If you mean the fencing jacket and pants, they're typically medium weight nylon or cotton, in a similar fabric to a medium to heavy weight karate gi. Warm, but not heavy. The mask isn't particularly heavy either (maybe a couple pounds).

If you're referring to some other armour, say chain mail for German fencing, then you're looking at more weight (though lighter, sturdier metals are available today than were when the art was more prevalent). I'm not sure about for renaissance fencing.
