YES, and I hate when people tell me otherwise. I work my *** off to be where I am today. Besides, it's in the Olympics.

Of course! Everyone thinks it's just twirling to music, but to get prepared for figure skating, I have to do off-ice classes and lift weights and do jumps on land. Also, figure skating takes a whole lot of muscle support and balance. Not many sports need technique and artistry. So yes, it is a sport.

Yes. Even if the judging can be totally biased and the skaters can be totally s****. and the skating mothers can be totally controlling, it is a sport.

Lol I think I've been a figure skater too long... Or maybe it's just my rink that has all the dramas that kinda suck the fun out of figure skating

Not all people or organizations recognize that figure skating is a sport. My daughter is on a high school figure skating team,  our state does not recognize this as being a "Sport".  Very maddening when bowling is considered a sport here.

ummmmmm YES.

ok so you spend countless hours in the cold throwing yourself into the air at super high speeds and falling on every imaginable body part. your knees are constantly bruised up. you go to jump and your blade stabs you in the leg. at least in other sports theres pads, we get to fall on our faces with no protection what so ever.  so yes sweetie it is a sport.

Yes figure skating is certainly a sport. It is something that takes a lot of hard work, practice, and much dedication. It's much harder than people think.

sometimes its not considered that because its not a team sport or its more complex than "turning left"

its still physical activity in a competitive atmosphere.

Yes... it is a winter OLYMPIC SPORT. If you consider SKATEBOARDING a sport, then figure skating is DEFINITLEY a sport, because at least figure skating is in the OLYMPICS while skateboarding is not!
