  1. Not exactly. Fire is a reaction occuring in the gaseous phase. It is not a gas in itself as this term applies to stable compounds rather than mixtures in a state of flux.

  2. Fire, or perhaps I should say "flame," is a very hot gas. It is composed primarily of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor. In a solid, the molecules are chemically bound to one another. In a liquid, the molecules are not bound, but are so tightly packed that they interact strongly with their neighbors. Gas molecules are widely spaced and interact only fleetingly with other molecules, like colliding billiard balls.

    Examples of Gases are :-

    Nitrogen (N2) at 78.08%

    Oxygen (O2) at 20.95% (Ozone is O3)

    Argon (Ar) at 0.93%

    Water (H2O) at an average of 1.0%

    Carbon Dioxide (CO2) 0.038%

    There are trace amounts of a multitude of other gases such as Methane (CH4), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Nitrous Oxide (N2O3). Many of these are pollutants or unstable and react quickly to form other compounds.

  3. yup- evaporation,hehehe farts also

  4. weell..read about it here..

  5. Solid = crystallineish structures that don't move much

    Liquid = more movement, more free (like glass or mercury or stuff. Yes glass over time shapes itself on the molecular scale due to gravity)

    Gas = free floating fast moving particles. N2, O2, CO2, H2

    Plasma = the 4th and final form of structures. This is when things get just so crazy that things start burning off and things separate into protons, neutrons, electrons. This includes Stars, Quasars, Lightning, and YES FIRE.

  6. No, fire isn't a gas.  Oxygen, helium and nitrogen (for example) are gases at room temperature, but it is possible to have liquid forms of these elements.  In liquid form they're extremely cold.
