  1. gas . . .

  2. Sorry to burst your bubble, but matter does indeed have more than three forms.

There are generally 5 accepted states of matter including Solid, liquid, gas, plasma and something called "Bose-Einstein condensate."

Fire is the result of an oxidation reaction. Fire is composed of flames. Flames can be a combination of solid (hot or glowing soot), liquid (depending upon the fuel), gases including Carbon dioxide and water vapor), and plasma (if it is hot enough. Flames also contain and emit energy.

The energy is usually associated with light (photons) and heat (emf in the Infrared range). Often sound energy is (the crackle) is produced as well.

The exact composition of fire is dependent upon the fuel and oxidizer used. A fire from a piece of burning magnesium ribbon is very much different than that of a smoldering piece of coal which is different than the fire from a liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon burning in air.

  3. Fire is a chemical change in progress. In almost every case it starts as a gas and the result of the chemical change is also a gas.

  4. Fire is not usually not hot enough to create a plasma. It is usually a mixture of hot gases undergoing a chemical reaction, mostly between oxygen and the fuel. However, if the flame is very hot, these gases can become temporarily ionized, making them plasma. These very high temperatures are found in welding arcs, lightning bolts, and the Sun.

  5. for me its gas

i read some articles before and it said that fire was a mixture of many gases...

therefore you could also consider it as gas

  6. The flame itself occurs within a region of gas where intense exothermic reactions are taking place. The visible flame has little mass, and it is comprised of luminous gases which emit energy .
