  1. Are fish animals? Yes.

Do they have to die in order to eat them? Yes.

    Are they meat? YES!!

  2. Yes for vegetarians. It's a life-form which has been killed for your consumption.

  3. It is the flesh of an animal, but humans like to put things into categories, such as land animals, sea animals, flying animals etc.  Fish meat, bird meat, animal meat... it's all meat; all flesh of a creature.

  5. Any animal flesh is meat.  Vegetarians do not eat animal flesh.

  8. yes

  9. yes it can feel its self diying but new vegiterians sometimes eat it a little just so there body can get used to no meat

  10. Yes, yes, and yes again!  Fish is a living, breathing thing with a brain and a central nervous system.  They have bones and blood and catch their food.  So yes.  They are animals.  When you kill an animal and eat it, you are eating meat.

  11. That depends if you ask a vegan or a Catholic!

A vegan would say yes...a Catholic would say no (Fridays...no meat ....but fish okay).  I am joking by the way.

  12. Yes.  Scientists classify fish as animals.  Animal flesh = meat.  Any vegetarian who eats fish and claims to be a vegetarian is a phoney wannebe.  They call this "Pescetarianism".  I think its BS.

however pescetarians (sp?) eat fish but no other meat...I think.

  14. If it is not a meat, which is flesh of an animal, then what is a fish then? I do believe it is a member of the Animal Kingdom, and not the Plant Kingdom. I never remember a goldfish in my botany class.

  15. to me, yes. i do not see how some vegetarians eat fish. when you kill a deer or a cow, you slaughter it. not pretty, but it's over pretty fast. a fish, you deceive into thinking it has found a meal, stab a hook through it's throat, and then suffocate. imagine the pain!

  18. it depends if you're a pescetarian, vegetarian, or vegan.

  21. Depends. But...

A pesceterian doesn't eat meat, but they eat fish.

A vegetarian doesn't eat, or anything with a face.

If you are a vegetarian that eats fish, you are a pescetarian instead. Sorry.

  23. If you are a vegetarian, yes.

Some people confuse matters and call themselves "vegetarians" although they eat fish. Real vegetarians don't eat any kind of animal and don't consider these people to be vegetarian.

The Catholic Church says fish isn't meat. Some schools of cooking say fish isn't meat. But neither of these definitions has anything to do with vegetarianism.

  24. Deffintly meat, my mum would be vegetarian if she gave up the occasional fish but she understands it's meat, some people don't. But yes it's certainly a meat.

  25. No, just like the difference between vegeterian and pesceterian. One eats no meat or fish, the other eats fish but not meat.
