Because the birds live and die in such excruciating agony for it to be made it is not legal to produce or import in many places. It's not legal to produce it in Australia because it is too cruel by our standards. But people can still buy it here - just the imported tins of it. It's just fatty liver, so I really don't see how anyone with a sane cell in their brains can think of it as so specially  gourmet to be worth the suffering. :P yukkk
