Question:

Is food color safe for bird toys ?

i just bought my budgies a playground. And theres food coloring on the playground toys and stuff. Is it safe to put more food coloring on it. Or what ?? And the toys are colored by food coloring so is it save to re-color it with it. ?????

  1. Human food coloring is safe for birds.  (Provided, of course, that they aren't just drinking it straight!)  So yes, if you need to, you can put more color on the playground.  Just so you know, my budgies seem to be more interested in shiny things than bright colors.

    You can either try to "paint" the coloring on, or soak the individual toys in it.  Soaking probably works better.  You'll only be able to color more natural products like wood and cloth though, food coloring must likely isn't going to stay with plastic.
