Question:

Is fox news even really news?

Has anyone noticed that fox has unabashedly walked away from simply reporting facts to spreading as much incendiary propaganda (both left and right) as possible? They seem to push the envelope a little further every year, to me. Agree, disagree?

  1. No, not a sign of it.

It's an openly propagandistic right wing operation that is best compared to some of that things that Joseph Goebels did for Hitler.

The entire media has been pushed to the right and Fox anchors the hard core loopy lunatic fringe.

  2. Fox news with all the fancy animations gives the consumer what they want, entertainment in the form of McDonalization. By selling it's news like a fast food restaurant, where quantity means quality and predictable broadcasting with a narrow scope for control.

The documentary Outfoxed goes into great depth of how 'Fair and Balanced' they are and how much they represent the 'filter' that is news journalism. But Remember Fox News is in competition with other networks for ratings so I'd say that's why they try a bit hard to be different.

  3. It is a window into the soul of the right wing reactionaries who want to claim to be "fair and balanced" give me a break..

Their news is only fair and balanced if you look at it from only one perspective .

    How is that balanced ?????

  4. Disagree. Fox spreads only right wing propaganda.

  5. no, think about it this way.  Rupert Murdoch, who owns the fox corp, is 1)a right-winger 2)has openly used his power over news media to get people elected or lose elections (all verified, not hearsay or rumor), and 3)believes that tv should be entertainment.  His business model is to grab people's attention, get them riled up, etc. to get the highest ratings possible.  And of course since he's right wing he makes it so that Fox news puts the conservative agenda in a positive light.

That's his business, you know I'm not saying he shouldn't be allowed to do it, it's a free country.  But the other networks at least were originally started as news organizations and not blatantly right wing propaganda stations.  Really, the only problem I have with the station is that if it's right wing propaganda, they should openly admit to it instead of pretending they are 'fair and balanced'.  Of all the stations to make such a claim, they are the least qualified.  Just tell the truth and I'm sure most people would shut up about it.

There is no left wing propaganda on that channel at all.  Anyone producing such things would get fired immediately.  The outfoxed documentary says that when people get hired at fox they warn them that it's a right wing network and they should be prepared to accept that if they want to work there.
