  1. They want you to pay from something called "Triple Advantage". I'm not sure what it is. The credit report is free ONLY IF you pay for a subscription in Triple Advantage.

It is not truly free. Look to the credit bureaus if you want actually free credit reporting.

  2. yeah,

unless you want to be riding off the lot in a used sub-compact

  3. FreeCreditReport.com will require you to sign up for their monitoring service, like most sites offering free credit reports.  They don't make it easy to cancel after the 30-day trial.

AnnualCreditReport.com is the only site that does not require you to sign up for monitoring service.  This is the site mandated by the FTC to allow online access to your free annual reports from each of the three credit bureaus.  Reports are free, scores are not.

If all you are interested in is your score, go to MyFico.com.  You will get real FICO scores not Fako scores.  You have to pay for them.

  4. A credit report and a credit score are two entirely different things. Freecreditreport.com lures you into the site banking on the assumption that you don't know the difference. So when they give you your credit report and then ask for your credit card number in order to receive your credit score (what most people are interested in in the first place), most people oblige. That's how they make their money.

  5. Um I went there and they want you to put your credit card number on there, so I stopped and didn't proceed. I was a little afraid I would get a charge after the "free" is up or something... But I heard it is safe and people do it all the time...

  6. yes - but you won't get your score  - you have to pay for that -usually sign up for a free 30 day trial   - but make sure you CANCEL it within that time frame

  7. They usually have promotions...if you've never signed up for thier 30-day trial you can do that and it should include 1 score (from Experian or Equifax) but you will not get all three. If you go to myfico.com you will get the same... Try www.creditchecktotal.com they offer a free 30 day trial and you get all 3 reports and scores. MAKE SURE TO CANCEL BEFORE 30 DAYS OR YOU WILL GET CHARGED!!!
