  1. Both are quite useful but I agree that French is more useful, and given the relative proximity that continental Europe has to Africa, it will serve you well there.

  2. I live in The Netherlands and they are both as useless unless you intend to go to Spain of France.

Most people here in Europe understand plain English so you can stick with that.

If not, I'd say French since they teach french in some other European countries.

    IT--

  3. French definitely, as it's studied in most of the countries as foreign language along with english and german.

  4. French is widely spoken in many countries in Europe. Spanish, not so much. French and English will also let you get along almost anywhere in Africa.

  5. I'd say French.

  6. i live in Hungary and I think French is more useful in Europe then Spanish is.

My Hungarian daughter-in-law spoke Hungarian, German, French and English.

Many people speak German, English and French here besides their native language.

  7. That depends to which country you are planning to visit. French is the official Language of France and Luxembourg. Is also speak in Belgium, Switzerland. A lot of Europeans has French as second language. As for Spanish: it is spoken in Spain. But progressively, more and more people in Europe are learning Spanish.

Even so, I suppose that if you travel to Europe for touristic reasons, maybe French it will be more useful.
