  1. clams?? anyway, tapwater is not salt water or fresh water. its city water. the difference is that city water is filled with chlorine and other toxins that make it bad. it can actually make ppl very sick.

  2. If you live in california, get bottled water.

And i believe freshwater is the same as from the tap.

But bottled water would just be better overall.

  3. BUY IT!

    dont drink the tap!

  4. Buy bottled water.  The tap water from the sink might contain chlorine which will kill the clams.

  5. Neither really should be used for tank water.

Tap water can contain small ammounts of chemicals (like clorhine) that may not be dangerous for us to drink, but surely not safe for fish to live in. It's the same for bottled water; compounds that make up the plastic can wear off into the water.

I must admit I've never owned clams before but the principles are the same.

They should be fine in the water you provide now, but providing clean water won't be hard to do either.

At pet stores, they sell aqua cleansers that purifies the water and adds minerals that are good for the fish.

It only takes about half a tsp of it per 10 gallon.

Make sure that it is given at least 15 to 30 minutes to purify before letting your fish swim in it.

    Good luck!

  6. you can use tap water

  7. Freshwater is simply water without salt. So unless you drink saltwater you should be fine! However make sure your water is at the proper temperature so that you don't shock the clams when you put them in the water.

    Good Luck!

  8. nah u can just fill the tank with water from the tap like i always do, its savin money

  9. You need to have de-chlorinated water.

So what I would do is go to Wal-Mart and buy some of the drops

and put it in the sink water.

That's going to be your best bet

Just make sure you use the right amount

  10. You can use the tap water but it needs to be treated to take out toxic things to fish like chlorine which is added to the tap water to make it drinkable.

  11. the water in the tp has chlorine and will kill the clams it needs to be bottled water

  12. You could but I would say go out and get a gallon of spring water

  13. No. You should probably get some detoxifier from a pet store though.

  14. you mean, while you're storing them before you eat them? just keep them on ice, if possible.

  15. pritty much but you need to buy drops to clean out the chemicals because they might make your fish sick.

  16. you needed to get some of the same water that you got the clams from. Tap water has all types of man-made minerals and vitamins and things that are intended for human consumption. The clams most likely wont survive, unless you get some type of lakewater or river water ....

  17. No, it's not. Sink water can have lead contaminants and stuff.

  18. fresh water is the same as from the sink...i know for fish you need to buy the drops that clean out the chlorine in the water though so its safe for the fish...can be the same for clams...not sure though

  19. No, bottled water are distilled meaning less minerals.

  20. tap water is fresh water.

  21. water from the sink is treated and bottled water too.. somewhat..lol..and water freshwater isnt.
