  1. Fried rice is generally healthy but it depends on your health so far. Normal cooked rice is healthier thogh, but fried rice is better than like junky food at a fast food place. I have fried rice often and i don't gain many pounds in 4 months. I've gained 3 pounds when i tried having rice as a dish for every meal (4 weeks) And a general steakhouse  has all meat and is like not that healthy ((((at all))))) well that's only my opinion!

MAIN MESSAGE::: Fried rice is generally healthy!

  2. At the japanese steakhouse where they prepare the friedrice in front of us.  They added a heaping cup full of something it looked like mayonaise, but I was told it was margerine.  Whatever it was is was over a cup for 6 people! Plus there was oil too! I loved it but I didn't go back, whatever is was it was fat.  I know it is very high in calories.

  3. as a euro asian chef, it would be wise for you to ask whats in your fried rice.. generally speaking brown rice are healthier than white rice. in most asian restaurant, including those of japanese steakhouses,  monosodiumglutomate(msg) is commonly used..soy sauce, high in sodium is also commonly used, ... if you do like fried rice, i would highly recommend making your own, that way you can control what you want to put in it,.,,... but generally speaking, they are ok, and are actually very good to eat,

  4. NO....ITS FRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. A lot of fried things, including rice, aren't as healthy as there basic cooked counterparts, but yes, it is generally healthy. It's much better than your average *steak*house.

Fried rice carries a lot of protein and not as much fat

  6. actually i think it is...i know it's really good

  7. it is only healthy if it is brown rice.  eating white rice is like eating white bread.  it acts as paste and is hard for your body to break down.  Brown rice is very healthy for you regardless of how it is cooked.

  8. i assume you mean hibachi places..  so let's think about what goes in there..

    positives

    eggs

    garlic

    oil

    negatives

    butter

    sake

    more oil!

    rice

    neutral

    onions

small amount of veggies (maybe peas and carrots)

so, you can tell yourself that its not that bad..  but honestly when my friends want hibachi I usually order some sushi and a bowl of miso soup..  my stomach cannot handle that much butter and oil..
