  1. I like Galway - of the Irish cities it would be my favourite to visit.

To live in, my favourite would be Dublin.

  2. My husband says it is, as he is from there. But it is certainly beautiful and well worth visiting with loads to do and see.

  3. It's a good little city. Compact and friendly with lots of bars and clubs, not to mention the restaurants. I don't kow about the best place in the world because I haven't been everywhere but it's definitely one of the best places I've ever visited.

  4. Galway is a very nice place, also you can visit the arran islands from there, which is interesting. To say it is the best place in the world, is pushing it though.

  5. Neither. It is near the top of the list as best in Ireland but I would place Clare or Kerry above it. Nowhere in Ireland is best in the world. I am Irish.

  6. Hello, FKTS,

Galway is my home city, and the county is my home county too, so Yes, it really is the best place on earth for me, the daytime in he city is busy enough,WAIT 'TIL YOU SEE THE LITTLS STREETS, especially Shoppe Street but take a sandwich and a drink into the Garden in Eyer Square, in th centre of Galway, jus relax and asit awhile and listen to the hustle and bustle going on around you, and if you have no one to talk to, come and sit next to me, Yes, that's me sitting at the front of the park on a large rock, with my bronzed hat on me bronzed head, my name is Padriac O' Connaire, and Iuseed top travel all over the place entertaining people with my tales and happy japes, now I am made of stone and bronze and I like peope to come and sit next to me and chat their hats off, I have a seat right next to me for you.

There are hundreds of shops here in Galway, selling thousands of items of interest be it clothing or dietary, and there's  NIGHT LIFE SECOND TO NONE IN ALL IRELAND.. and there are lots of buses in town to take you anywhere in the County, for a reasonable fare. Or you could ferry over to the Aran Islands,(3 islands in Galway Bay), maybe you have your own transport, GREAT! you are free to roam all over my County, and welcome wherever your roamings take you, head out for Clifden, and have a couple of days and nights there, lovely little town on the Atlantic Coast, then after you leave Clifden, head on the road to Letterfrack and have a lunch there, WoW! what a feed, and call in at Kylemore Abbey, it used to be an Abbey, then latterly a Girls school, and now you can have a rest there before heading through the mountain roads back to Galway. better you dont do all this touring alone though, take a friend or two with you, so the sights of my county can amaze even more people at the same time as your good self. I would willingly travel from anywhere in the world back to Galway, and wouldn't even suffer from travel weariness at all. so Caed Mile Failte' to you Sir, and please feel free to join in any and all the mighty craic while you are here, we love the stranger here, because you are just a friend we didn't meet yet. safe journey to you. Bye for now...Tony M...
