  1. You wont find a specific one but.............gambling is a sin. We are to be good stewards with all that God has blessed us with....including our money.

All that happens in our life, happens within the perfect will & foreknowledge of God..........He's never surprised. So something like joining the army is not a gamble.

  2. Gambling isnt a sin. Some people can gamble and have fun or play the lottery. A sin is putting money before the work of God however the bible never mentions anything about gambling being a sin. It is a sin to serve money before God. However if a man gives to the poor, works for his money, and decides to gamble a little bit, will it be a sin? Gambling only becomes a sin when you put the will of God to the side and focus on money instead. The New Testament states these things...

Do not murder, do not commit adultery, honor your father and mother, do not steal, do not bear false witness, love your neighbor as yourself. I dont see anything about gambling.

  3. This is just my opinion. Probably not in the Bible, lol.

I would think that anything that you are controlled by would be a sin. Opening  a business wouldn't be considered a sin unless the business consumed you. The same as anything else. Now if you didn't want to participate in an activity because there are so many people that are consumed by it, not to want to help support it or for the principal of it, then you shouldn't. Letting something control your life is where the sin comes in.

I bought rafle tickets to win $500 gas cards to support my daughters band. Is that also considered a sin?

  4. No, gambling isn't a sin. Jesus kicked out the money changers who cheated people out of their money. There are verses about not being covetous, which means not to being greedy and wanting what others have, which isn't the same thing as gambling. Of course Paul said if you consider something a sin, then for you it is. But there is no "thou shalt no gamble" in the Bible.

Taking risks in business and such certainly wouldn't be considered a sin.

  5. Gambling is wrong.  Among other things, a scripture I can't remember right now but I'll look up if you like condemns reliance on the "god of good luck".  Isn't that what one does when they risk their money.

  6. When you make up your mind, as to which context (of gambling) you are referring to, come back and we will give you an answer.

  7. Only law imputes sin: Romans 5:13.

    Gambling is a sin by the law;

Penalty for sin is death: surely die.

Penalty for law judging is also death.

Iff off course, you'd prefer law to grace.

I'll take grace, multiplies mercy & peace.

Pst: it's now the age of grace, which speaks of

put away childish things (laws) to be man kind.

Blessed the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

  8. Whoa...you're deep, man. I never thought about it like that...

But opening up a business, and joining the army -- those are all things that better your life and improve the world. Gambling...doesn't help anyone. It certainly doesn't help you. How much luck can one guy have?

  9. Gambling is only a sin if you lose. Religion has, and should have, nothing to do with it.

Continue to gamble and quit religion.

  10. If you look at gambling as sport .. you might think that it is not a sin ...

But is it true ? Lets find out ~~

I am not saying all gambling is sin... but what I can say is that most

gambling is addictive and hard to get out of. We are designed to enjoy

freedom.. it was given by the Christ and nobody can take away the freedom to choose what we love to do.

However, god is also a great mathmatician and calculates every sin

you make.... I can not fully say whether it is sin or not but there is one person who knows whether it is guilty or not. He sees through you and if you felt guilty and still done the deed then you are guilty and he knows it.

    [Luke 12 : 5].

       5. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into h**l. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

Only you and god truely know whether you really knew it was not right thing to do and you still did it anyway... what I can tell you is not something like quit gambling because freedom is greatest gift given by the christ and I can not take them away from you

What I can tell you from my experience is that Fear God.... Even Solomon said that fearing god was greates gift of all.... if you do not fear god you will do all sort of stuff a lot worse than gambling. If you know what is good for you then fear god for he sees it all.

God is the hardest bounty hunter on the planet and if you commit sins

fully knowing that it is bad then he will get you for that and there's no

    escape from god's hand

So what Im saying is if you know its not right Just dont do it ..

    it's that simple    ^_____________^

  11. I am not great with the Bible but in the New Testament somewhere, Jesus goes into the temple where there are people gambling and he kicks them all out.

Pretty sure it is in either the Matthew, Mark, Luke or John book.

  12. why is gambling a sin?  if youre religious, watch this.  http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

if youre a tourist gambling then theres nothing wrong with that.  if youre a local gambling everyday then youre throwing your life away.  but its not a sin.
