Ganguly was one of the finest lefties of the world, and one of the all time greats of India.

A bad player couldn't have scored over 11,000 ODI runs, including 22 centuries, and 72 half centuries, which Ganguly DID.

A player who IS NOT good couldn't have made a memorable and astounding comeback into the team, after being dropped for about a year, and being told to retire, which Ganguly DID.  His recent poor performance in a few innings doesn't make him a bad player.

And finally no other Indian captain has yet been better than Ganguly.

Even in international cricket, only few players has been as good as, and better than Sourav Ganguly.

Although he is negative these days he was a good player. And a good captain who made India win 11 times in test matches and it was in arrow .  Ganguly is a good player , he could bat well ,bowl well, and field well too. He is a good player. Im not favouring .

Ganguly was both an exceptional batsmen and captain, what stopped him  from being a really good to great player was his fielding. He was never a bowler.s best ally in the field.
